General Information

Scheduling a Trip

C-CARTS is a shared-ride, public transportation service. To schedule or cancel your ride, call 217.344.4287. Trips can be scheduled for any purpose.

Reservations must be made at least two business days prior to the requested ride. Rides may be scheduled between the hours of 6:00 am and 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Please note that all rides are scheduled on an as-available basis. (See On Demand for information on fares and service area.)

When scheduling rides, please have the following information available:

  • First and Last Name
  • Date you wish to travel
  • Pick up address, preferred pick up time, and destination address. (Please note that some locations have specific drop off/pick up areas.)
  • Return pick up address, preferred pick up time, and pick up address.
  • Whether you will be using a mobility assistance device.
  • Whether a personnel care attendant (PCA), companion, or service animal will be riding with you.

Please allow time for picking up and dropping off other passengers before reaching your destination. Trip departure times are typically scheduled for one hour before the time at which you wish to arrive at your destination.

When scheduling your return trip, please consider any delays you may encounter while conducting your business. This will help ensure you do not miss your scheduled departure. It is better to wait a few minutes than miss your ride.

No Show/Late Cancellation Policy

When trips are scheduled, a time slot and seat are reserved for a passenger. When these time slots are filled other passengers are not able to reserve trips. For this reason, the following policy has been established.

In an effort to provide the best service possible, all passengers are asked to cancel any unneeded scheduled trip at least one (1) hour prior to their ride time. Cancellations not made in accordance with this policy will be treated as a “No-Show or Late Cancellation”. Consistent no-shows or late cancellations may lead to suspension of transportation services.

Additionally, if a passenger shows a “pattern or practice” of frequently cancelling scheduled rides (regardless of when cancellation is made), this may lead to suspension of transportation services.

First Step

If a rider receives 3 or more no-shows, late cancellations, or shows a pattern of cancelled scheduled rides, they will receive notification of these occurrences. This will initiate an investigation into the violation.

Second Step

If it is determined that a “pattern or practice” exists, the rider will be notified, in writing, that they are on a 30-day probationary period from the date of the letter.

If the individual is cited for the same violation one (1) or more times during the probationary period, the rider’s service suspension will begin 30 days from the date of the letter and will follow the schedule below.
